I have a drayton 2 port (A B) with a ZA6 (6 wire) and I haven't got the wiring instructions and I have been searching for the past 2 days on the Internet to find them and I cant.

The wire colours are:

Green & Yellow (earth)
Brown (is that permanent live or live from the cylinder stat?)
Blue (Neutral)
White(?)
Gray(?)
Orange(?)

I am only using it with a cylinder stat to control temperature to the indirect coil in the immersion tank not wiring in the roomstat or CH at all.

Also is the valve shut when it is at A or B?

Cheers,
Andy.

HI......
are you sure this valve is a 2 port as 2 ports dont usually have A and B on them they are usually straight and inline......it sounds like a 3 port if it has A and B on it which are the port letters.......is it shaped like a T?????

.....you need to look at the valve you are replacing ....on the old one it will say A and B these are the port letters you need to put the new one the same way.....on a rough guess A port to central heating and B port to hot water . But put back same way then there will bee no problem.....

colours.....

green/yellow....earth
blue................neutral
orange.........switched live
brown .........central heating on
grey.............hot water off
white...........?????

hope this helps............

Thanks yes the valve looks like a mid position valve but underneath it is blanked off so there is just one pipe in and one pipe out. The A & B is written on the actuator I haven't looked to see if A & B is written on the zone valve itself.

Andy.

i think you will find the wiring is as follows.
green/yellow - earth
blue - neutral
brown - switched wire from cylinder stat
orange - switched live to boiler and pump
grey - permanent live
white - make electrically safe as not used.

most zone valve bodies are marked a b
most mid position valve bodies are marked a b & ab

Hope this helps

This helps a lot thanks. So I have to have a permanent live from the central heating fused spur to the grey wire on the actuator as well as the live from the cyl stat (to brown) on the actuator is that right? - the only thing that turns on the boiler in the house is the live from the CH timeswitch and the roomstat so I don't think I need to use the orange wire as well is that correct?

Cheers.
