Hi. I want to replace an ordinary 2wire(+ earth) roomstat with one of these electronic roomstats but it requires neutral - I know it will most probably break all the rules and regulations but if I used the earth as neutral could i do that would it work and would it be safe? - I cannot easily wire up a neutral wire to the roomstat.

Thanks.

Andy.

Twisted Evil You must use a digi stat if you only have 2 wires (live in live out) no earth or neutral required DO NOT use earth to carry voltage

Best way is use Danfoss or Honeywell (Voltage Free)

You can use the earth wire for a neutral if;

it is fully insulated throughout its length, not just sheathed ie: flexible cable

Both ends of the above are clearly marked with a blue identifier.

But a Honeywell CM907 would be a good bet and only needs 2 wires, as previously mentioned.
