I fitted a thermostatic valve to mains cold and header tank fed hot. Problem is when off the mains cold pushes through hot pipe and pushes the hot water in my cylinder into my water tank?

is this a bath mixer? or a shower? if its shower it should'nt be mains fed both feeds should be from the the tank. water regs.

either change em both so that colds coming from tank and hot from cylinder, and install a pump to give equal presures.

or get a single check vale installed on hot to stop cold pushing it back
