|
|
My washing machine is in the cellar. The waste water pumps out into a tub. There is a submersible pump in the tub which pumps the water up to ground level (then straight down the normal drains).
The tub always has about 5 litres of residual water in it and after a few weeks it starts to smell and gets slimy/soapy/grungy. It takes ages to clean out so I am looking for something I can add to the water on a regular (weekly ?) basis, maybe bleach ? or Soda crystals ?. The tub has a makeshift lid so is easily accessible.
Any ideas ? |

Why not fit a Saniflo or similar with a trap? That way you will not be affected by the remaining contents of the sump.
Saniflo have a very informative web site and make a machine specifically for your described application. |

| Worth a try I guess. But I have to clean out the soapy grunge that builds up periodically....I wonder how easy that is inside the Saniflo ? |
