Hi I'm new here and have a question about central heating.

Can I run a central heating system for 3 bed house about 8 radiators with mini
bore pipeing useing an Infinity 16i Internal Wall Gas Multipoint Water Heater
Nat Gas 35kW from www.aquahot.co.uk it delivers 20l/min hot water from 35-65
degree c. I could attach a circulation pump and control thermostat. I would
have another unit for hot water.

Would the radiator water damage the exchange.
Could the gas supply cope with the two running at the same time.
Is there anything I dont know about, like header tanks presure valves.

My thinking is, Pumping water supply around the radiators with a thermostaticly
controled pump. Temp drops thermostat puts power to pump, water flow activates
gas to heat the water, pump circulates around system, on full circle there will
be hot water re-entering the system (don't have to use as much energy to heat
hot water Smile ). The system it's self is thermostaticly controled to 1 degree, so
you could preset water temprature to a max while still controling the temprature
from the room I.E. no water pump, no circulation, no heat.

thanks for listening
Paul

Paul

great to see you are looking at the rinnai!!!

IUnfortunately building regs wont let you use a rinnai for heating because its non condesning!!!
Although i have a technical diagram showing exactly how it can be done with them!

Your better off bying a a low kw boiler and running a the heating that way then use a teh rinnai for hotwater!!

you can run the rinnai of the water mains providing you you have enough pressure. 16i is 1.2bar minimum

if you dont have that presusre then you can pump your entire house from the tanks in the loft.
Use a wilo silentmaster 304

this will give you 4bar pressure at 120/Lpm

i have installed this to a large house and it can run 3 showers at once using an infinity 26E

Gas wise you will need to upgrade you gas main and depending on the boiler yoiu use may need to have a U16 gas meter - it will cost up to £275

if you use a 35kw rinnai plus a 18kw system boiler

35+18= 53kw

to convert to m3/hr

53x3.6/39
= 190.8/39
=4.89

this equalls 4.89 cubic meters per hr of gas being burnt

if you have a U6 meter you will be in the clear !!! and still have enough for a gas hob

be carefull on who you get advise from about infinity's as most plumbers wil try and drive you down the cylinder route !!!

totally not neeed at al its old hat !!!!

if you tell me what area you are in i can get a local rinnai reps number for you who can probbaly put you in contact with a local rinnai installer

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I have an old valiant combi thats on its way out,
which forced me to look at alternatives before replacing it. I have now
found a supply of parts for it, typicaly the flow valve. Water gets hot then
goes cold efectivley turning off the gas. On the heating side the sitting
room rad never got hot just warm, I found the solution here and balenced
the system now its fine.

regards
Paul
