I want to add some Sentinel X100 inhibitor to my system as I don't think it has inhibitor at present. I've been told to drain sufficient water out of the system to allow the inhibitor to be added to the header tank. I have 2 questions.
1. Will adding the inhibitor to the header tank cause the inhibitor to flow throughout the system? I thought the header tank was there just as a top up mechanism.
2. Why cant I scoop sufficient water out of the header tank to add the inhibitor instead of mucking about with a drain cock and hose? Doesn't this achieve the same thing?

Thanks for any help.

you need to drain some water out so it goes in to the system, not just sit in the tank. you should just drain a load out, till the water level in the tank is below the fill pipe.keep it going for a min or two. when you fill the system again, keep the ball vavle up and let it fill slowly so the inhibitor goes in to the sytem
