The Water Board came out today to test my water pressure because I want to buy a panel shower. Now, the shower (as far as the info on the website states) needs a minimum of 2.0 bar.
The water board have told me I have 3.0 bar Static and 1.5 bar Dynamic
Which reading to I need to take notice of?
Is my pressure suitable for the shower I have chosen
Help!!!!

If the panel shower uses your stored hot and cold water, the mains pressure (which is what I suspect the water board will have tested) will be irrelevant except that it will need to have enough flow to fill the cold tank while you're using the shower.
If you have a combi boiler (which heats the cold mains water coming into your house as you need it), you might well be okay, but you need to check with the installation instructions to see what type of supply is needed for the shower.
If you don't have a combi boiler and so have a storage tank in your loft and a hot cylinder in your airing cupboard, you will almost certainly need a pump to boost the pressure and your cold tank will probably need to hold at least 50 gallons.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Joe. |

Thankyou for taking the trouble to reply. I do have a combi boiler and the pressure that I have, seems to fit the shower. Hopefully, when the shower is fitted, this will be proved right.
Fingers crossed!! |
