|
|
I'm having a problem with 2 upstairs toilets. When either of them is flushed there is a loud horn like noise, but its difficult to pin point where the noise is coming from.
If the cold tap is turned on fully then the noise stops. We had the same problem in a downstairs toilet but that now seems to be alright. We've had no plumbing work done to the system for 6 years!
Is this something that can be done DIY or, if not how much would I expect to pay to have a plumber fix it?
I'm not a plumber so if you do reply to this could it be in laymans terms!!
Thanks

Have you got ball valve float arm's in your cisterns?
If so the diaphragms will need replacing in both ball valves.
As for costs it varies between plumbers & what area you live in.
It will be easy enough to do it yourself if you are confident enough. _________________ Brad |

Thanks for the reply, can you buy the diaphrams seperately? Can I walk into my nearest plumbing centre and ask for them?
I am confident in changing them, though the wife begs to differ!!! |

Yes they are you might need to buy a pack of 5, or have a look in your local d.i.y. store they might sell them seperately. _________________ Brad |
