I have a 20 year old Trianco Oil boiler which has a conventional flue due to it's location. Originally it had a balanced flue but fumes were blowing back into the house on a windy day.
Shortly need to buy a new boiler. One answer would be an outside boiler but would the frost stat make the boiler fire too often? ( Normally I don't leave the heating on at night).
Questions:
1.What make should I go for?
2.Is a balanced flue more efficient?
3.Condensing or not?
Advice very much appreciated.

Grant outside oil boilers

It will not be a convential natural draught flue as they are not sold anymore.

A two stage frost protection kit will minimise the time the boiler fires due to the frost stat.

You have not said where you are.

There is a lot of difference between the Yorkshire moors and mild Devon !

Generally putting a boiler outside is to free up internal space and for noise considerations. If it fires up ocasionally when its cold then is that all that important?

Of course if you live in a silent area and sleep lightly then perhaps that is important to you.
