Hi all,

I'm thinking of refitting my bathroom, and want to maximise the space. The bathroom is only 2mtr wide, and I have to site the toilet across from the sink. As a result, its a bit tight between the sink and toilet. In the new bathroom, I'd like to fit a wall mounted toilet, with a concealed cistern, which I would like to flush mount, but I'm not sure if I can. The only external wall is the cavity (brick) wall where the soil pipe runs. All other walls are internal, so i cannot mount the toilet on those. However, the bloke in my local plumbing shop said it should be fine to cut a hole in the inner cavity wall and fit a tall and slim concealed cistern, one that measures 1.2mtr tall and 140mm deep. Also, my floor is wooden joists, but he assures me that the S frame will be fine there. Can anyone suggest if this is common or acceptable practice, as i'd like to make sure before i look any further at it.

Thanks
nathan

Placing a large area volume cistern in an exterior cavity wall you are asking for it to be frozen.
Have a look at high level cisterns either concealed in your "insulated" loft or if you can mounted in the same room.
