A correctly designed system using a condensing boiler will use less energy...that means sitting down with the heat loss program, and double cheking with the whole house method of heatloss calculation. It also means configuring the boiler for heat output on central heating to the demand size. In that respect wehter the boiler is 24kw or 28kw is irrelevant....as the full power will be used in hot water production...

Personally I dont beleive in over sizing radiators, (because when the outside is not at design temperature, alot of the time, they are over sized) and would opt for programable room stat as opposed to a thermostat. Short bursts on a condensing boiler are ideal to maintain efficient bursts.....

Also zoning on the central heating is important...

All this is described in the Chess best practice design guide...

I can't comment on the technical side of things, however in a bid to reduce the cost of buying a new condensing boiler I have recently setup an online store selling only HE boilers. They are all quality brands and are at discount prices, take a look at www.theboilerstore.co.uk , you might be surprised at how much you can save, possibly hundreds of pounds! (and free delivery)
If you think that this is just a shameless plug, then you're right! The Boiler Store

I hope you realise that this is a topic which is over a year old!

Whilst you are welcome to advertise your stocks be aware this site is operated by Plumbworld to sell their stock although not primarily boilers.

The trouble with boilers is that your prices are usually higher than our local merchants!

Would you rise to the chalenge of quoting a price for a Vailant 824 Ecotech including flue? Make it clear if it includes or excludes VAT and carriage.

Very shameless plug 'boilerstore'. We could all sell boilers at your prices on supply only and make a higher gross profit than the merchants (example 105HE). I would hope that most of the professional installers on here would have negotiated better terms than you offer - so no! your costing me money not saving hundrerds!

The energy efficiency thing...... New rads are designed using delta 50C therefore generally not necessary to run the boiler at more than 71C. If you run the boiler at more than this you will, in most cases, get the return water coming back at the same temperature as the flow sooner rather than later. By maintaining the correct boiler setting and pump speed you can achieve delta 20c for a greater period, more efficiency.

The above answer is a stripped down version of an answer but I'm a bit pushed for time etc. Anyone who is not sure should try this as a simple exercise in their own homes and watch as the boiler gently plumes away for ages.

No problem Agile,
Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 824NG boiler, including standard horizontal flue kit and FREE delivery to virtually anywhere on the mainland UK and including vat.= £884.36

Or maybe you fancy an Ideal Mini C24 boiler with standard horizontal flue kit FREE 7 day timer and FREE delivery as above including vat. special offer price = £638.32

JuanKarlos, did you actually visit the site or did you just assume our prices would be expensive?
Lets be honest, we're all in business to make money, however I honestly think that most people would save alot of money buying from www.theboilerstore.co.uk, even you may save a few quid! The Boiler Store
