Can anyone tell me where I can get a pressurised contraption for getting Inhibitor, Cleaner and Leak Sealer into my combi heating system via the filling loop? How much should I pay for one, 'cause I don't want to spend too much?

I tried to modify one of those garden weedkiller pressure sprays to do the job, but when I connected it I found that it wasn't pressurised enough to pump the stuff into the system, which is only sitting at 0.7 bar when cold.

I also thought about getting the Salamander Corrosion Guard concentrate products that come with a special adaptor for injecting via the filling loop, but I can't find anywhere that sells their leak sealer concentrate. Places like Travis Perkins and Jewsons only seem to sell the Inhibitor and Cleaner in concentrates.

Hire a test bucket from your local tool hire and pump it in with that.

the seam tops we fit have top and bottom tappings ie. vaves in 1/2" tappings at bottom and at the top one end has a 1/2" chrome plug and the other a bleed. If you drain a little from the system you can remove a plug from the rad at the highest point pour in your chemical refit the plug refill system and vent. No?

I've used the fernox inhibitor in a mastic tube that you insert via a rad bleed valve. Of course it will displace the water in the rad so you will need to drain down some water.

I cleaned and inhibited my system with a product called rapid dose. It is an aerosol type can with the chemical in it and all you have to do is attach it to the boiler filling loop and it empties itself. It only took me two minutes and I'm not a plumber or heating engineer. It was so much easier than the bottles and mastic tube type things that I have bought from B&Q in the past!

I cant remember who makes it but it was a green&yellow can for the protector and a green&blue can for the cleaner.

Hope this helps.
