I have a standard way of telling if my system is correctly treated by drawing off some of my C/H water into an empty bottle and putting a piece of copper and a small piece of clean sheet steel in the sample.I then observe.I usually use Fernox or Sentinel for topping up or re-treating.
Anybody any different methods?
Rgds.

I'm not convinced about the usefulness of an exact test unless you're trying to find out what went wrong somewhere. Sentinel say replenish every 2/3 years. Fernox every 10, but their own products have different concentrations of active ingredients, so, what are they saying??

The stuff is quite cheap compared to my time so if in doubt I put more in. There is no optimum level.
