I am considering using the Expelair DX 100 Textractor Fan Delay Timer fit to approx. 4m of ducting. Can anyone tell me if this fan is capable of ducting this far without significantly impacting on performance. And, if not offer a suitable alternative.
Thank-you in advance for your help..

Can you confirm this is for a shower application, and that you are taking the ducting up into the attic then horizontal to an external point.

Steve,
It is for a Bathroom rather than a shower.
The bathroom is downstairs, the fan is to replace an existing one that is fitted to the ceiling. The ducting runs under the floorboards of the first floor to an external point.
Because the bathroom has no windows and gets no ventilation other than from the fan I am concerned that I get maximum throughput.

Although it is common for this type of axial fan to be used in a ducted application, it really isn't ideal especially over 4 metres of ducting, as they do not develop any pressure.
I would suggest you use a centrifugal fan such as the Xpelair Premier range which can use the same ducting and can also be flush fitted.
Hope this helps.

The Premier DX 200 and DX 200T are operated by remote switch e.g. a light switch or separate pull cord. They have a choice of three duct positions and two speed extract fans.
Note the picture in the attachment; the fan is buried into the wall by 62mm with 50mm protruding. The case size is 220mm wide and 250mm High.
Cost of fan only
Premier DX 200 £51.55 Inc Vat
Premier DX 200 T £ £72.70 Inc Vat
Call Barry on 01386 44686 if you wish to place an order.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your help, I think I can just about fit the DX200 into the space I have.
I have one final question - I note that an Ancillary with the DX200 is a ceiling mounting kit but the fan description says it can be ceiling mounted - do I need the ceiling mounting kit as an extra?
Thanks,
Richard

Depends on what ancillaries you already have. Basically the celining mounting kit is a tube and a gasket to connect the fan through the ceiling to some flexible duct. However, if you recess mount the fan, which is what I recommend, you may be able to just connect the ducting directly to the fan.
