Can someone suggest what is wrong due to my washing machine water coming back up through my kitchen sink. I have dissmantled the pipes under the sink and cant find any blockages? It doesnt seem to be going down the waste and back up, but straight from the machine up through the sink....argh!!

Would have to look at the set up to determine the problem, waste hoses into traps should always be the last resort, stand pipes should be used if space allows as modern w machines pump out at a good rate which can lead to overflowing the sink trap.
Make sure you have checked the waste pipes as far back as you can go you may find a blockage further on which cannot cope with the volume of water the w machine pumps out in one go.

On the other hand I would always plum a WM waste to the sink instead of stand pipe. Would hate to have a blocked drain and find there is inches of water on the floor when WM pump kicks in. At least sink bowl full of water gives you some warning of impending disaster.

Good point DP I just find that clients usually complain about the gurgling noise from the trap when it is connected this way.

Thanks for your help gents. The blockage was in the main pipe and a little Mr M and a plunger did the trick, did take a few hours though.
